ABOUT HOSENBURY

A Little History
The concept of Hosenbury began in the early 2000’s, as an add-on to the Hose Village Fete. A musical event was held on the playing field and grew into the annual festival, with many bands playing each year in July. Food stalls, a drinks tent and overnight camping added to the full-day festival atmosphere.
In recent years the festival has been run by a separate Hosenbury committee with a band of welcome volunteers.
The purpose of Hosenbury – the channelling of surplus funds into local charities and good causes – has remained the same throughout. Donations amounting to over £10,000 have been made in the past 15 years, allowing amongst other things, the purchase of two outdoor table tennis tables at the Village Hall, and support for activities at the local primary school.
From 2025 the committee decided to no longer hold a full-day festival, due to the financial pressures of operating such events, but chose to concentrate its fund-raising activities on a programme of evening concerts held throughout the year in both Hose Village Hall and Hose Church.
